This increased stringency will, as you are already aware, decrease the amount of renewable energy projects and proposals being brought forward. This - in my opinion - is dangerous. As Canadians, we have committed ourselves to various greenhouse gas goals in the future. Lire davantage

Green energy presents a significant strong investment in the Ontario economy. It is a point of pride that the province has taken such fantastic strides in supporting Ontario’s economy and job growth through responsible investment in environmentally sustainable energy. Lire davantage

In my opinion, this repeal will set Ontario back when it comes to renewable energy. It should not matter if there is a pressing demonstrable need for energy in order to go forward with a project. We as a province and country should be moving to transition all our energy needs to renewable sources. Lire davantage

Any or all changes to existing legislation regarding Regulation 359/09 will result in loss of business for us in Province of Ontario. We will be forced to take our expertise and investment dollars to Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia. Lire davantage

Reducing fossil fuel consumption will require a large increase in electricity generation. The province should be encouraging homeowners to continue convert from natural gas heating to electrically driven heat exchangers and electric vehicles. Lire davantage

Your proposals for renewable energy process are counter productive and have no merit but to support outdated energy production. Lire davantage

This proposal would require a project developer to show that there is a demand for the electricity they will generate in order to get a renewable energy approval. Lire davantage

This proposal is garbage. There is “enough” electricity? Did I miss read this? Renewable energy source negatively impact the environment? More than our hydro damns? Lire davantage

This action is long overdue. It is an example of the mis - or over management practices of the former governments. What they did and how they did it defies common sense and has resulted in yet more rules and regulations and costs - all of which come out of the same pocket of the same tax payer. Lire davantage

We need choice when it comes to where our energy is sourced. Diversification matters vs being dependent on only a couple resources.

The idea behind green energy projects is to displace conventional nonrenewable sources. How can the Province reduce GHG emissions without replacing these power sources? This seems to be a very short sighted approach given the rapidly falling prices of power from renewable sources. Lire davantage

While I support the idea that any project (housing development, road, mine, oil and gas development etc) should not be approved if there is no current or anticipated need for the product this proposed regulation lacks a key element. Lire davantage

Amendments to the Renewable Energy Approvals Regulation (Ontario Regulation 359/09) proposal only states “demand for electricity” and does not specify whether this term applies to capacity or energy. Lire davantage

This is such an idiotic and short sighted idea. The world has been told by climate scientists that we have 12 years to make drastic changes to our energy infrastructure. How is this going to help us? Lire davantage

This regulation amendment is anti-consumer and indicates that Ontario is not "Open for Business" as this government would claim. Energy companies should be free to build new projects and sell the electricity at a competitive market rate. Lire davantage

I understand that Ontario doesn’t require electricity generation for the time being but what about in the future? Where does Ontario’s electrical grid stand in 2024 when Pickering is closed? We, Ontarians need to think and plan more than 4 years ahead. Lire davantage

Putting environmental measures on a pure business basis of approval when we're at the point of looking at a precipice of irreversible climate-change induced disasters does not pass the sniff test for me. Lire davantage
