As a resident of Ontario which is part of Canada, I find it disgusting that our MNRF uses the American spelling of metres and kilometres etc. Please get a grip on where we live.
I'm in general agreement with the proposed regulation changes since they seem to address the concerns mentioned.
Living in N.W. Ontario, we do have a number of commercial houseboat operators that rent their "floating lodges" out to paying guests. These rented houseboats are typically rented for a week at a time and moored on Crown Land for the whole week i.e. they don't hop, jump and skip around to different mooring spots. The same mooring spots are used over and over again throughout the houseboat rental season. Mooring spots are limited to a degree since these locations need to be a sandy bottom and offer protection from wind. In my town, there are two commercial houseboat operators that are authorized under a Land Use Permit issued under the P.L.A. that provides their legal authority to carry out their business. I trust that if the proposed changes are adopted, these businesses will still be allowed to carry out their businesses in the same way with authorization of a Land Use Permit with conditions that reflect the proposed changes.
