This amendment is terribly…

This amendment is terribly unbalanced in favour of cottagers while trying to curb the behaviors of a few inconsiderate people. The 300 meter distance is far too restrictive and will affect the safety of boaters seeking shelter from storms. Many of the places I have anchored will no longer be available to me and will limit my use of the waterways unfairly. 100 meters is a more balanced distance to preserve the rights of landowner and not to be needlessly restrictive to boaters.

Furthermore, Anchoring a vessel is a common law right in Canada protected by the Constitution act, the Canada Shipping Act and various international treaties for the St Lawrance seaway and Great Lake.

Simply put, the the land owner do not own the lake bottom and the province does not have the right to interfere with a federally protected right as a lesser authority.
