Good day,
I'm writing to express my support for the listing of the newly proposed plant species to be regulated under the Invasive Species Act. I lack the expertise to comment on organisms other than plants.
I do have one question about the listing of Azolla as a genus. According to some sources, A. filiculoides is native in British Columbia and A. caroliniana is native in Ontario (i.e., Brouillet et al. 2020+, Canadian Endangered Species Conservation Council 2022, FNA 1993+, POWO 2023). Has this been taken into account and might this affect their inclusion in the regulation?
Thank you.
