at a time when this planet is radically changing & destroying lands filled with forests that allow our ecosystem to take hold thus intensifying support for our environment we have changed the biodiversity to the point that invertebrates are disappearing simply because their is no compass to follow as it has been destroyed . every time trees are felled these lands lose the neutrients that feed not only the land that surrounds it but the vegetation that grows in this distinct environment .
the greenbelt is significant as it is one of the last areas of continues trees that grows amongst a unique biodiversity filled with an ecosystem that thrives with its abundance of pure air thus allowing our environment to be at its healthiest best thus thriving with people in a continuous circle of health .
when jonie mitchell penned those words paving over paradise it was not a joke which has now become a horror story . once these lands have been destroyed all that we need to survive the biodiversity the ecosystem is all changed thus the animals that have traveled these lands this ecosystem for eons is simply lost . think of a forested area on a hillside that root system once connected with the soil that is no longer you now have the possibility of landslides nothing to keep the soil in place... that is virtually the equivalence to clearing lands that no longer feed the biodiversity... the biodiversity that no longer feeds the ecosystem the invertebrates that fed into the land no longer exists . the greenbelt is very very precious & the more of these lands the healthier we are as a people... as we are all interconnected .
