I bought my land in 2005…

I bought my land in 2005 when it was not in the Greenbelt then Kathleen Wynn put my lands into the Greenbelt with a touch of her pen ignoring that fact that there was no justification to put these lands into the Greenbelt. I have lived in the area of Hamilton/Ancaster for more than half a century and it is obvious that more housing needs to be built for our growing population. It should not just be condos and town homes it should also be single family homes that families need, want and deserve to raise their children in a home with a yard to play in. Other cities are building single family detached homes that people want. The residence are not working in those communities they are commuting to work in Hamilton, Burlington and Toronto. The city of Hamilton had an opportunity for negotiating with developers to have enhancements to the community that we could determine what we would want to see. We could have had them build more churches, more recreation centers, more community parks for the children, senior centers, etc.
The meetings that were held in Ancaster in relation to the Greenbelt had people bused from other cities, Waterdown, Burlington, and other communities, their opinion should not have determined our community where we live and pay taxes. Their presence was threatening, intimidating to the point where people that live here and pay property tax here were afraid to voice their opinion.
