We do not want this landfill in our picturesque quiet little town. This will decrease the value on all our properties. This town is starting to boom, subdivisions are being built and more people are calling Dresden home everyday. This landfill will put a stop to the progress that we have made in this community. Are you aware of the history this town has with the Underground Railroad and how this town is a tourist destination? This is a disgrace to our historical town, bringing a landfill here when we should be honouring those who crossed into Dresden using the Underground Railroad. We are also known as the “Christmas Town”, with the Dresden night market and we also have a summer night market that brings thousands of tourist to our beautiful town twice a year, which brings in profits for all our locally owned businesses.This landfill will stop that! The health implication that this landfill will bring is detrimental to the residence that live here and the future generations to come. Our ecosystem is at stake here, the proposed site has creeks, wildlife and the Sydenham river in its vicinity. For a country that is so focused on environmental change and saving the environment, York 1 Environmental Waste Solutions Ltd does not care at all about the environment only about the money that they will make. Keep your garbage in Toronto, stop ruining small towns! This is an agricultural town and this landfill will destroy our town, our livelihoods and our crops! To bring a landfill that is 1km away from this beautiful town is down right disgraceful!
