It is profoundly discouraging that the current Ontario government proposes to scrap the carbon tax. This is a necessary step for de-carbonizing our provincial economy and the funds will provide support to many important platforms. The recent IPCC report should terrify everyone. I have no idea how I will explain this decision to my two very young children when they reach an age of political consciousness. We are destroying their future in order to make some favours for corporations who want to continue to pollute without accountability. Shame on the Ontario Progressive Conservatives and anyone who voted for them.
