We are elderly pedestrians enjoying walking in downtown Toronto. On many occasions we have narrowly missed being hit by e-bikes and e-scooters operating at excessive speeds on sidewalks.
E-scooters seem to be everywhere with no care for pedestrians. Even on cycle tracks (where they are not allowed) they disregard pedestrians crossing at crosswalks and very rarely stop at red lights at crosswalks.
We very much hope that our lives will be made safer if some sort of e-scooter ban is enforced. Please do not allow them to be used in Toronto. In addition, please encourage police enforcement.
