30 years of Chinook stocking in Lake Superior, and the Kam River in particular have proved that it is ineffective, contributing only 1% of the fish caught by angling; this result is consistent every time the stock is assessed.

I've been fishing the Kaministiquia River for some 40 years now. As a young man I spent many hours plying its waters for Walleye, Bass, Rainbow trout but most of my time was spent chasing the very large Chinook Salmon that spawned in the river.

The Thunder Bay Salmon Association is pleased to finally have a formal written stocking plan with identified goals and objectives which include social and economic considerations. Annual assessment of the Kam River by the MNR is something we have asked for in the past and welcome. Lire davantage

I fully support salmon stocking in Lake Superior. I think any damage to forage base is a result of the lake trout being restored previous levels. In my 30 years of fishing lake superior the number of salmon is small compared to lake trout. Lire davantage
