I live in Parkdale Toronto ON. After much public participation we have Toronto’s agreement to create a Heritage Conservation District of what remains of the 1889 town of Parkdsle. It is the most intact village in the GTA.

I must voice a strong displeasure with the current regulation being proposed as a part of Bill-66. The 'Open-for-Business' changes to current Planning Act would do little to increase the prosperity of the people of this province.

The "open-for-business-planning tool" is a very bad idea. It incentivizes municipalities and enables them to bypass all regulations, in particular those that will protect the environment such as the Green Belt. Ontario has lots of land for development that is not in the Green Belt.

Please stop and drop Bill 66 Schedule 10.
It will allow developers to circumvent the Clean Water Act, the Greenbelt Act, the Great Lakes Protection Act, the Lake Simcoe Protection Act, the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Act, the Places to Grow Act, and municipal Official Plans.

I concur with the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) when they state that "Bill 66 represents an unprecedented and unacceptable attack on legislative provisions which currently safeguard environmental quality and public health and safety throughout Ontario."

I am strongly opposed to the open-for-business planning tool. It undermines the Official Plan process by allowing municipalities to go around it. Beyond that, it undermines the municipality's responsibility to its citizens by allowing them to forgo public consultation.
