Bill 108 should not be passed. The changes to the Ontario Heritage Act will substantially weaken a municipality's ability to protect historic buildings for properties. This should not be a Provincial decision.
It is vital that more power be given to local residents through their municipal representatives to preserve heritage buildings, or we risk losing the unique character of our cities and towns which make them attractive places to live in the first place.

Please do not change the Ontario Heritage Act with Bill 108. The current act works. I cannot understand the need or want, to amend this bill and take away the authority of local municipalities and heritage committees to decide what is important to their communities.
