Please consider Lake Simcoe of Simcoe County to be included in the Greenbelt protection. We want our lake and surrounding area to be protected against over urbanization and other detrimental projects.

Grow the Greenbelt in a way that puts people, farmers and the planet first. Ensure that watersheds and other valuable green spaces are protected as well as preserved
Expand green spaces and create community food gardens. Promote and encourage Ontario grown food

My ONLY suggestion is if you are really serious about growing and protecting our Greenbelt than STOP allowing MZO orders to be used to destroy these areas. I can't believe this consultation is even being done.

Growing the Greenbelt is a great idea.
But there are other problems:
-give conservation authorities their previous powers back
-allow municipalities to set their own development plans, including not expanding urban boundaries
-stop the creation of new 400 series highways

My neighborhood has changed from single family housing to two or 3 suites per lot. I am not complaining because we realize how important it is to preserve farmland and keep development away from Lake Simcoe. Please stop the new highway and development around the lake.

Greenbelt expansion must supersede any changes in the law that allows for 'urban growth' into any area that should be protected.
Urban growth, etc. needs to be dealt with in the spaces already designated for specific uses, by intensification, building up not out, etc.

The Township of Puslinch Council, at its meeting held on March 24, 2021, discussed in depth the
Government’s Proposal to Expand the Greenbelt.
Currently, approximately 23% of the Township is within the Greenbelt. The proposed expansion

We need provide this greenbelt project in order to protect our Lake Simcoe from the effects of unregulated growth along it's shores! Please provide sanctuary for the wild life and plants from the urban sprawl! Our water is a precious resource and requires protection.

I support the largest possible expansion of the Greenbelt. It is a critical area for so many things, including drinking water and animal habitat. In order to combat biodiversity loss, ecological corridors must be enhanced and new ones created.

I have attended the Ontario Headwaters Institute webinars regarding the Greenbelt. I live both within the Greenbelt and also own property on the Oak Ridges Moraine. I strongly support their recommendations which include expansion of the current Greenbelt by including:

The Greenbelt must be protected as is, not encroached upon by developments or housing, it needs to be expand d and protected by environmentalists. Expand it. Do not build on it.
I urge you to use a science-based approach to expansion that will:
• ensure safe and abundant drinking water and local food for the region’s 9 million residents;
• sustain local ecosystems and biodiversity; and
• optimize resilience to climate change impacts such as flooding and drought.

This is nothing but a smokescreen to hide the fact that you actually want to pave over a fiat section of the green belt with a highway to nowhere. Ontarians want the green belt protected not assaulted. Doug Ford promised he would NOT develop on the green belt.

We live in Simcoe County and support the expansion of the Greenbelt. Decisions made today that support loss of the Greenbelt will be seen as irresponsible by history.
