I, like many others, am appalled at the proposed "changes" to the Greenbelt area. Wetlands cannot simply be torn down and relocated to another area, and it is completely dishonest to pretend otherwise. Lire davantage

Ontario needs density where people work, not endless suburban sprawl. Gutting the Greenbelt not only destroys agricultural land and much needed green space, but will worsen traffic across Southern Ontario and worsen the climate crisis for future Ontarians. Keep your promise and scrap this proposal.

To whom it may concern, the conservation of public green space is not open to any government for the removal of said conservation. Canada is founded on extensive lands and green space which support both human, animal and plant life for the good of all. Lire davantage

This plan is absolutely ridiculous. I am a resident of White Church Road East and we already running low on well water due to unsustainable housing developments in the area. Lire davantage

The greenbelt stays! Don’t take away green space from current Durham Region residents. We should not have to travel far to be in greenspace. Paris is not a reasonable trek from Durham. Lire davantage

This is a TERRIBLE idea. I do not support it at all...these lands should be protected. Use all the unoccupied condos, control rent and cap the real estate market ii nstead if destroying nature which is what we need the most. Bad idea, it's insulting that it is even being considered.

This is ridiculous. The Greenbelt is protected for a very good reason. We need it. Destroying the environmental integrity of the Greenbelt for profit is absolute greed on behalf of Doug Ford and the Conservative party. Disgusting and shameful.

Single family homes are not the solution to the current housing crisis. Higher density housing is nessisary, to allow for inproved community, mental health, walkability, and to cut congestion. Single family homes in the greenbelt is even worse, depriving ontario of unique advantage. Lire davantage

Leave the greenbelt as is. It's protecting environmentally sensitive land that can't be replicated elsewhere. Build up, not out. Stop destroying our environment for unnecessary urban sprawl.

I highly oppose this proposal. Wetlands are critical to our climate change initiatives, ecological and biodiversity preservation, and personal safety. These lands are protected and should remain as such for the mutual benefit of all Ontarians, Canadian, and humanity. Lire davantage

We the people had your agreement, this revoking by the Doug Ford's government is unacceptable and outrageous! Leave the protected lands in the Greenbelt Do not destroy fertile lands instead of infilling and developing within the existing urban boundaries. Lire davantage

To Premier Doug Ford, Minister for the Environment David Piccini, and Minister for Housing Steve Clark, Please do not build on the Greenbelt. We cannot sacrifice our environment or our watershed safeguards, simply to build more housing. Lire davantage

We elected this government with the promise that no development would happen within the green belt … Ford himself provided this promise … now the promise is being proposed to be broken. I reject the proposal for development in these areas.

I am absolutely against touching the greenbelt. There is more than enough land to develop to meet the goal of 1.5 million homes. Despite the massive need for housing, taking away the greenbelt from the GTHA would be a big mistake, as we can never have it back. Lire davantage

Premier Doug Ford promised not to touch the Greenvelt. Doing so would deepen the already huge chasm of distrust from the community to its provincial government. These lands aren’t just conservation, they are important ecological landscapes with rares biosystems and animals. Lire davantage

This land was made a green belt for a reason. It should stay that way. We don’t need more homes and more people in the greater Hamilton area. Government should not be able to overturn a decision that was made what happened to democracy?
