Development on Greenbelt lands flies in the face of existing government promises. I have historically voted Conservative but will not support the Ford government should this plan move forward and will move my vote to Liberal.

I object to this proposal due to the resulting destruction of wetlands. We need these wetlands for biodiversity, improved water quality, and to mitigate flood risk. Lire davantage

I do not support any removal of Greenbelt land for development, including housing. Urban sprawl is not the way forward to adding homes in Ontario. We need to add density and services to support that density in our cities. Lire davantage

Mr.Ford promised during his campaign that he would not do this to the green belt. By reneging on this promise he is disgracing the vote I cast for him. How is he any better than our prime minister if he too is willing to lie on campaign to be elected and then change his tune once he is in office. Lire davantage

Keep the green belt where it is. Focus on developing more transit option between Toronto and outlying communities. In addition focus on creating denser mixed use neighborhoods in the gta that are already close to existing transit infrastructure. A good example is pickering. Lire davantage

As a resident of St. Catharines, I object. Given the current climate change crisis, now is not the time to decrease the amount of green spaces and wet lands. There is already a lot of urban sprawl, leading to encroached fauna and wildlife. Lire davantage

I am absolutely appalled and disgusted by the Green Belt amendments. Shame on the Ford government. This government is a complete and utter disaster with no consideration for its people or the land, the only thing it cares about is profit.

The Greenbelt is fundamentally necessary for recharge of the hydraulic cycle. And it can only serve this function if left in its natural state, unencroached by urban sprawl. Lire davantage

The greenbelt needs to be firmly protected. The wetlands it contains, and the buffer zones around them are important for Ontario in the long term. It's an absolute shame that a premiere who was funded by builders who own those lands wants to erode protections for those important areas. Lire davantage

I believe that the solution to lack of housing should be denser housing and building of walkable communities, not suburban sprawl that will chew up valuable biodiverse land. Protecting the Greenbelt and the life it supports is more important than making a quick buck for housing developers.
