We can understand the urgent need to build more affordable housing, however, there are reasons why we have official plans, zoning bylaws, etc. These documents are critical in order to protect our communities. Lire davantage

Bill 185, Schedule 12 should not remove the long-standing right of the public to appeal the adoption or amendment of Official Plans and Zoning By-Laws to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Do not remove public appeal rights. I'm here commenting because I believe in public engagement. The public's right to appeal is not "red tape" and is necessary. Public engagement should be weighed in any decision-making process. Lire davantage

It's unbelievable that the Ford government continues to flout the voices of the people. This is the exact amendment this government was forced to BACKTRACK on due to public outcry, and yet here it is again. Clearly illustrating why this government cannot be trusted to govern with integrity. Lire davantage

Amend the Provincial Policy Statement to allow municipalities to expand the boundaries of a settlement area without giving up other lands. Remove the “no net increase” clause where municipalities own the land they are proposing to expand. - Roger Haley; Mayor of Front of Yonge Township

I am in favour of Bill 185, especially the right of developers to appeal municipal decisions that reject applications to expand the urban boundary. Hamilton City Council believes it can achieve provincial growth targets by using very high levels of denser housing structures. Lire davantage

If you do not succeed, try, try again. This government had to previously BACKTRACK on this amendment due to public outcry, and yet here it is again. This clearly illustrates blatant disregard for public comment and obviously this government cannot be trusted to govern with integrity. Lire davantage
