Thanks for giving us the hunters the chance to comment on this issue and proposed changes being made.
1. why is all of a hunters points used when a tag is awarded? If a hunter had 12 points and it only required 8 to get a tag then the hunter should retain 4 points since he or she has been buying a license for 12 years and another has only been applying for 8 . Taking all the points does not seem correct to me .
2. If on the second draw there is a group of 3 hunters that have the same amount of points . Then isnt their best opportunity for a tag to put all 3 in on the second draw first choice ? they would be unsure of the amount of hunters putting in for said adult tag , And if by chance all 3 hunters drew a tag then these 3 hunters would be forced to take all the tags and not hunt for the next several years because all their points would be used or taken . Would it not be simpler to have the tags that are not claimed just go to the surplus as suggested. and therefore the hunters would not lose points or the ability to hunt the following years . Seems a bit drastic to force a hunter or a group of hunters to take a bunch of tags and all their points if they could just claim a tag and let the remainder go to the surplus 3rd round .

3. How about shortening the season so that moose are not targeted when they are in their wintering grounds and herded up . I know in northwestern ontario that moose are hunted on snowmobiles and targeted while in the winter grounds . I would think that ending the season in the middle of November would allow everyone an opportunity to harvest a moose and prevent the wintering moose from being a target on snowmobiles.

Thanks for letting us the hunters comment on the changes proposed and hopefully you take in all the ideas and information that the hunters are providing and make the right changes not only based on what the hunters need but also what we need to improve the moose population in this province .
