The actions of the Ford government against the protection of our Green Belt is exactly why this bill should not pass. Bill 5 would allow government to strip protected land of their title to be abused by industries and corporations. Thousands of acres of land is available to be developed in in the GTA, in addition to already developed but crumbling infrastructure in cities like Brantford. Giving government the ability to create special zones is giving the current and future governments the power to develop land unnecessarily all for shady deals and personal profit, just like the Ontario science centre and the bogus spa.
