The people of this province…

The people of this province want strong environmental protections, not thinly veiled plans to get rid of existing protections as quickly as possible. This proposal does too much to override the rights of Ontarians because projects have long approval time horizons for a reason and that's because people ought to be consulted and that process takes time. It is very unclear what the standards are for 'vetted projects' and 'reliable proponents' and that makes me worry that this process is more clientelistic than concerned with development projects that benefit Ontarians.
