This Act should not be approved in its current form.
It is dangerous to the health and well-being of current and future generations of Ontarians.
It is entirely anti-democratic.

It gives entirely too much discretion and power to Cabinet to reward their friends and donors by declaring property those supporters own a "Special Economic Zone".
There are no defined criteria for these zones.
But once declared, Cabinet has the power to suspend any laws -- as well as any municipally passed bylaws -- which previously protected that land from abuse and damage.

There are no guardrails to prevent favoritism and corruption of government officials and elected representatives.
It extinguishes causes of actions, remedies, bars legal proceedings, and in short, gives no opportunity for citizens who may know facts about the property that should preclude its choice for the "special economic activity" selected by Cabinet, to raise an alarm bell.

If this Act is approved, we citizens of Ontario risk environmental damage and ongoing health problems.
