This proposed bill is a blatant act of settler colonialism and wildlife destruction. Fast tracking building without adequate environmental assessments as well as consent from Indigenous people (the rightful custodians of the land) is a step in the wrong direction for environmental protection and truth and reconciliation. Not to mention removing the Endangered Species Act will directly harm efforts to protect endangered species and the animals themselves.
