As a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute I would hope that the Province will recognize an RPP as being qualified to submit reports for which our profession has been recognized by the OLT, and the courts to provide expert planning opinion for all forms of applications that would be required by the Planning Act, and related Acts including the Development Charges Act, Aggregates Act, Environmental Protection Act, Heritage Act, NECP, Greenbelt and other Acts that affect land use planning.
This would include provision of Planning Justification Reports, where there is an analysis of Provincial Plans, PPS, Official Plans, Consents and Zoning By-laws and in support of minor variances. This should also include drafting and creation of policy and its implementation through tools such as CBC By-laws, CIP's, and Community Permit systems.
