The following comments are submitted on behalf of the City of Greater Sudbury in response to this Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) proposal. As a northern municipality with a diverse geography, significant natural resources, and unique environmental and economic considerations, we appreciate the opportunity to provide input and respectfully submit the following observations and recommendations for consideration:

While Greater Sudbury does not anticipate immediate impacts from this change, we recommend flexibility for municipalities to request supplemental information when unique conditions apply (e.g., unstable soil, slope constraints, contaminated lands). The Province should also clarify that municipalities may continue to request peer reviews of submitted studies, as these are critical to managing liability and ensuring technical accuracy.
