I am a resident of downtown Hamilton. I live near the site in question and my children attend Bennetto Elementary School, one block away. I strongly support the City of Hamilton's request for an MZO. Hamilton is in the midst of a housing crisis, and it is unconscionable that this site has been sitting empty because of CN's stubbornness. There was housing on this site for decades and it coexisted just fine with CN's rail operations. It makes no sense for CN to be claiming that the new housing development would conflict with their rail operations, and it's infuriating that this dispute has been dragging on for so long despite the good-faith attempts of the City and the developers to address CN's concerns. Please issue an MZO so that construction can proceed asap.
