I do not believe that the Town of Wasaga Beach has the resources and expertise needed to manage the competing interests (tourism, environment, local residents) in the beaches. I recommend the Province repurchases Allenwood Beach from the Town and keeps New Wasaga and the numbered beaches under Ontario Parks management in cooperation with the Town’s interests and activities. Managing Nancy Island as a tourist attraction does make sense but the Town’s year-round tourism plans are an illusion.
