Instead of whittling away at our provincial parks and other protected green spaces to transfer them to developers, I would feel much more secure about our collective future if you focused your efforts on more equitable, efficient, and environmentally friendly developments, in function of what we know about the twin planetary crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.
I would prefer if you did not decrease the size of any provincial park, as they are supposed to be protected forever for the people of Ontario. Your proposal to privatize several hectares of this important public asset would be a loss to the people of Ontario in its own right and also establish a very concerning precedent whereby we could all expect that more of our protected places would be sold off in the future.
At the very least, the area you're proposing to "remove" from the provincial park should be compensated with an "addition" of new land to the park covering an equal or greater area with similar conservation value, and any sale of former provincial park land to a private interest should enshrine in the property deed a commitment to fund a project to compensate any destruction of nature on the former provincial park land with the re-naturalization of a commensurate area of land with protected provincial park status.
