I am opposed to any removals of land from the provincial park at Wasaga Beach. The job of the province is to represent the interests of all Ontarians and to balance the concerns of all citizens against the interests of a single municipal council. The community of Wasaga Beach has somehow managed to survive and thrive for many decades, right next to the provincial park. Why does it now need park land that is home to a number of endangered species and provides recreation to thousands of Ontarians every year?
I find this proposal entirely indefensible in terms of its environmental impacts, as well as its impact on the thousands of citizens who use the provincial park for recreation.
