This is ill thought out.
Provincial parks, esp those with beaches such as Wasaga, are seeing more use than ever before.
With suburban sprawl eating up farmland and greenspaces, and urban density increasing, homes are being built with smaller and smaller yards, if any. Ontarians are thus being driven to parks and conservation areas to escape the asphalt and concrete, putting a heavier load on those areas.
Reducing the size of parks simply concentrates the visitors in a smaller area, resulting in greater ecological impact on the surrounding area.
Southern Ontario has lost so much needed greenspace in the past two decades and we need to be expanding on available parkland and preserving our Provincial Parks and natural spaces rather than parcelling them off.
