Please accept my comment regarding the legislative amendment to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act and the Historical Parks Act.

I submit that the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is not only a place for people but also one of the few remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. These birds have actually just started to make a delicate comeback in the last 15 years, because of the protection and even stewardship they receive in Ontario.

Removing this protection via the Endangered Species Act by the current government didn't bode well for this and many other species in our province.

That the current government is proposing to sell blocks of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park for development, including the nesting habitat for the Piping Plover, is a very bad sign of the direction we are taking as a society. This habitat may be gone forever if this is permitted to continue/go forward.

We cannot continue to forever put business and profit interests in front of the interests of all inhabitants, be they animals or people.

Please note: I cannot express clearly and forcefully enough how strongly I am apposed to this proposal.
