This is a concerning piece of legislation. As someone who has enjoyed the free and open access to Wasaga Beach for my entire life, I am appalled by this proposal. Once this piece of provincial park is privatized, there’s no going back. I have been in my parts of the world where free and common access to waterways is limited. It is jarring to be told that you don’t have access to a beach that was once a common enjoyable experience. How dare the government privatize and limit our access. Much like a library, this is a rare place where everyone is equal to its enjoyment. Keep the beach totally free and accessible to all.
