I’m extraordinarily disappointed in the Ford administration’s decision to sell off Beaches 1 and 2 and Nancy Island at Wasaga Beach to developers. I realize the local Wasaga Beach municipal government is in favour of this action but believe it is a short sighted maneuver for the region.
Wasaga Beach is a precious natural resource that is enjoyed by many people that often travel some distance to get to it. By many accounts it is the largest fresh water beach in the world. We pride ourselves on this wonderful resource that is enjoyed by so many.
I am also appalled at the new legislation that looks like it could open up other Ontario parks for sale. Haven’t we learned from the Ontario Place and Ontario Science Centre fiascos ?!
