I do not support this proposal. Humans have more than enough beachfront property already and this proposal opens up the area to environmental degradation if development were to occur along the beachfront, which it likely would.
We've done enough damage to the habitats if other species. Let the endangered plovers continue using the Wasaga coastline without the disruption that would surely occur if this proposal is carried forward.
Other municipalities are now spending lots of money to rehabilitate their beaches and coastlines to prevent further degradation, put back native plant species, and help dunes get back to their natural strength to protect the shoreline and make the beach a place for all species to co-exist. Why take Wasaga backwards which would then necessitate human intervention in future to fix our own destruction?
Keep it as is and protect the beachfront for all species.
