Please do not go ahead with the proposed legislative amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act and Historical Parks Act to Support the Wasaga Beach's Tourism Enhancement Proposal.

Firstly, please do not sell our precious provincial park lands to private owners or townships. The parks belong to all the people of Ontario and it is unfair to sell off our parks to make a profit. The whole point of having the provincial park system is to protect these lands from development. If you are truly working for the majority of people in Ontario you would not allow this to happen.

Secondly, if you allow portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to be sold off, will any park be safe? This would set a dangerous precedent and lead to even more loss of parks to private ownership. Provincial parks are needed in communities in Ontario as they provide valuable, affordable recreation which benefits both our mental and physical health.

Lastly, Piping Plovers nearly disappeared from Ontario before a small population began returning to Wasaga Beach in 2007 to breed. If we destroy their habitat, we may never see Piping Plovers back in Ontario again. They seem to have completed disappeared from Sauble Beach. Please do not threaten the survival of this endangered species by going ahead with this.

Please do not allow proposal to go ahead. The provincial parks belong to the people of Ontario and they should remain protected for our future generations to enjoy recreation and wildlife.
