Why should the economic benefit of an individual municipality be prioritized over the collective environmental health of the region which is important for local species and the overall region?

While concentrating funding on improvements for the town's infrastructure and prexisting buildings would make sense, there shouldn't be a reason the protected natural area needs to be affected or sold away to individual rich "tourism" investors who may not even be local residents.

How is this proposal claiming to "continue to protect the area's natural heritage" when it is talking about building and developing and selling away the land? Why is the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks not being given resources to continue to maintain the area?

The priority for land that currently belongs to citizens of the entire province is that it be maintained in a balanced natural state whenever possible.

Why is crown land being sold? Are the taxes we are already paying not enough to support tourism improvement?

As much as tourism revenue may benefit parts of Ontario and provide overall financial benefit to the province, continuing to irresponsibly expand in one area at the cost of unique regional ecosystems is shortsighted and does not reflect my values as a citizen.
