The natural and cultural heritage of Wasaga Beach are not supported by increased tourism or ‘economic’ growth. Like many other uniquely beautiful locations in the province, Wasaga Beach appeals to many people, including locals, because of its lack of big, money-oriented development. Wasaga Beach’s natural beauty, relative small scale, and proven unique habitat call for the love and respect required to say “Not here!” If tourists seek something grand that Wasaga Beach doesn’t offer, they can go elsewhere. Without its distinctness, Wasaga Beach will no longer be the special tourist destination or home that it is now.
