Hello, I do not support this amendment because I believe it to not be in the best interest of Ontarians. The provincial park including Wasaga Beach must be a protected common ground for Ontarians and visitors of our Province to enjoy peacefully and freely. Losing such a common space that is environmentally protected would only decrease the utility it provides to visitors and residents of the area. The environmental protections that being a park provides maintains the beauty and tranquility of the space which IS THE ATTRACTION! The Ministry of Parks should continue to manage the site and it should receive funding to maintain the environment while making the space an attractive and sustainable place for visitors. This will contribute to the local economy through natural market spillover effects as visitors from the park also visit local businesses. Development should also not come at the cost of sacrificing a beautiful park that admittedly may need investment to attract more visitors sustainably. I hope that the government will reconsider this proposal and search for alternative locations in the Wasga area to make investments.
