I am writing as a resident of Grey County who cares deeply about protecting our natural spaces and public access to waterfront areas. The proposal to remove 645 acres from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and open it for private development is very concerning.

This land includes important beach areas, dunes, wetlands, and habitat for endangered species such as the piping plover. Losing these protected areas threatens local ecosystems and the environmental health of Georgian Bay.

Moreover, taking parkland out of public protection means the community will lose access to parts of the waterfront that have been publicly enjoyed for generations. This sets a dangerous precedent that could lead to further loss of provincial parks and public natural spaces.

I urge the government to reject this proposal and maintain strong protections for Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Our parks are vital for wildlife, local culture, recreation, and climate resilience. Please prioritize conservation and public access over short-term development interests.
