I am concerned about the proposal to develop Wasaga Beach. Wasaga Beach is home to habitats that support the Piping Plover which is an endangered species. Developing these lands put this species at even further risk, rather than protecting it.

I also feel that the guise of development to encourage tourism is vastly overstated. This development will only be advantageous to a select few, who may not even be Ontarians. As the ambient temperature increases across the globe, public access to water systems for all Ontarians becomes even more important. By developing these lands and decreasing the area of public access, it could put the public at risk.

All Ontarians deserve access to Wasaga Beach and other public waterways, not just those who are rich enough to afford it or lucky enough to have access to private property. I ask you to please reconsider this bill.
