This proposal does not assure the continued public access to the beach or environmental protection to the area. Furthermore, the amendment to remove legislative approval of the process is very concerning.
Please do not approve this until there is full transparency over what is entailed by 'improvement' and 'development.'
Suggestion would be to have explicit wording that guarantees the public access to the area, that it will not be minimized, and that there will be full environmental protection of the area.
The Wasaga's dune habitat needs to remain protected along with the endangered and native species. It is one of the few places in Ontario where piping plovers nest.
Please do not let Wasaga beach become another commercialization project that takes away public access to the water and destroys nature.
