This proposal jepardizes the protection of the best habitat for Ontario's endangered Piping Plovers. This is only one of the species that is protected and stewarded with the provincial park. Ontario has protected less than 11% of it's land, including that in provincial parks. This is well below the 30% target committed to by Canada and that is necessary for a sustainable environment going forward. All provincial parks, including Wasaga's provide essential recreational opportunities for Ontario residents as well as protecting vulnerable habitat. It is unconscionable to even consider transfering this propery.
