I lived in Brockville Ontario for a summer. A town along the St. Lawrence. All I ever heard from the locals was how stupid it was for the town to sell off it's waterfront to private developers. A town on the water with the *tiniest* beach now, where private homes line the shoreline. Where something that used to be enjoyed by all now gets to be enjoyed by only the rich.
Keep the beach the same. Keep the nature. Sheesh, endangered birds live on those beaches. Keep the nature. Or else you'll lose why people visited in the first place.
If Wasaga isn't sustainable without constant growth then it's not actually sustainable and it's bubble is gonna bust and die.
The town should invest in what it already has, build upon what already exists. Change your building laws to build more density, get rid of mandatory minimum parking, create a town locals can enjoy all year round.
This is wild that it's even an issue being proposed.
