I have always voted for the Provincial Conservative government during elections.
I find it almost unbelievable the Ford Government is pushing this forward. We do not have enough Provincial Parks the quality of Wasaga Beach as it is. By moving Wasaga Beach area 1&2, New Wasaga and Allenwood under the control of the City of Wasaga beach everything changes. Development will occur, parking for non residents will decrease and a crown jewel will be lost.
I have been going to these beaches for over 35 years with my children and friends. It has been a wonderful experience I wish to pass onto my grandchildren.
Ontario could use 10 new Provincial Parks with overnight camping right now. But none of these would have the beach quality of Wasaga Beach parks.
Most Ontarians cannot afford a cottage and rely on simple pleasures like swimming in a fresh water lake.
This action reflects very poorly on the government and for the sake of future generations please cease this activity and invest more money into Ontario Provincial parks. They are desperately needed.
