To the Government of Ontario,
Removal of any part of a Provincial Park requires extensive study and public consultation, and should only proceed if there is no net loss of natural habitat or public access to nature. Removal of 60 ha of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park does not meet any of the criteria listed above and must not proceed until all the steps are completed and a concensus deems the loss of parkland to be acceptable. Taking shortcuts is not acceptable.
As a family that has vacationed at Wasaga for many years (4 generations have participated), loss of any part of the current Park is not acceptable.
