This proposal will have a strong impact on the survival of the pipping plover species and may make it harder for conservation efforts to stay in place. This species of shore birds is only now just improving in numbers while still being on the brink of being considered endangered. I’m order to protect these birds and their habitat, provincial funding is of paramount importance. Please reconsider this proposal for the sake of this species survival. They are essential to the Ontario beach ecosystem and to the world. Conservation efforts are important now more than ever with the rise of the climate crisis which is why this proposal should be dropped.
