Ontario’s Parks are most appropriately planned, operated & managed by the Provincial Government, following the terms & conditions of the “Class E.A. for Provincial Parks.”
Deregulating these areas, & removing this oversight, does not allow the public the right & opportunities to participate in this planning process for this area…. and will lead to commercialization & development of these former parklands!
There is already far too much development on the Georgian Bay coast in the Wasaga Beach-Collingwood area. To approve this proposal and allow far more development here is a terrible idea!
Wasaga Beach & the Prov. Park have co-existed for decades to the benefit of both the public & the provincial government.
Do NOT allow the sale and profiteering of this Park land. It will only result in massive overdevelopment here!!
And the very few endangered piping plovers that still exist here will be extirpated!
What park is next to be de-regulated and sold for development?!! It’s a slippery slope!!
This proposal is a bad idea and should be rejected! Keep Wasaga Beach Provincial Park a public park for the people of Ontario!!
