All three of the initiatives are welcome.
In particular, assistance with local cycling infrastructure is significant. Numerous studies have demonstrated the economic benefits of building bicycle infrastructure. The problem is that the benefits usually flow to provincial and federal governments but the municipalities are left with the costs. As a taxpayer, I really don't care which level of government pays the bill - I know that I'll pay it eventually regardless. I don't like seeing different levels of government debate who should pay when all I want is to see it done! Today being my birthday, I'm very aware that some of the things I'd like to see done to improve cycling infrastructure, and thereby increase cycling participation, will probably not be completed during my lifetime. We have the advantage of seeing from other communities, particularly in Europe, what works best. Let's get at it!
