As a person who was run over by a city contracted garbage truck, while cycling in a bike lane, I have many thoughts and feelings about cycling infrastructure. There is no need for road violence. It can be stopped. Lire davantage

The components proposed by the MTO for the #CycleOn strategy are all very urban focused. Please consider components that would benefit rural communities as well. Cycling infrastructure should benefit all Ontarians regardless of location. [Original Comment ID: 196337]

More consultation is required from the Electronic Bike Industry and proponents to understand their infrastructure requirements. E-Bikes are classified as non-motorized vehicles and fall within the same grouping as cycling and should have equal considerations. Lire davantage

When I was in Amsterdam (sorry, you're probably sick of hearing about bloody Amsterdam, but stay with me) I saw a great system for bike parking. In the commuter train station they have a huge underground bike parking facility for bike share bikes and private bikes. Lire davantage

I fully support a move towards improved cycling infrastructure. My local municipality has recently made strides to improve lane width and clarifying bike lanes through the use of painted lines. These lanes cut straight through the downtown core, which is a thoroughfare for both cars and bikes. Lire davantage

The province needs to invest money exclusively into All-Ages-and Abilities bicycle infrastructure if investing money at all. Money spent on other infrastructure is largely wasted. Paint is cheap and municipalities rarely maintain it well. Lire davantage

Generally, for smaller rural and rural/urban communities, paved shoulders are the best and most effective way to connect residential communities (hamlets) together. This can become difficult when there are multiple governments with responsibility for roads (county, province, municipality). Lire davantage
