This is an overstepping of municipal authority. Cities must have the power to design their own streets, and cars are not the solution to creating streetscapes that meet our climate goals and provide healthy lives for people. I am sick and tired of the Premier writing vengeful legislation to address his personal vendettas against people who ride bicycles. If it weren’t for the bikeway on Cannon Street in Hamilton I would not be able to safely get to school. It’s faster than bussing and orders of magnitude cheaper than a car.
