Hello

As a taxpayer and property owner, I find the Grey Sauble conservation area, slow to react under staffed and costly.

They take zero ownership and continue to pass their responsibilities to the taxpayers. In my area our town does all of their maintenance, grass cutting, tree pruning parking lot grading. Garbage receptacles are picked up by town employees at tax payers cost. Extra garbage cans are never out for high traffic season (ie fishing season) the areas are contaminated with coffee cups and garbage and volunteers clean up the mess.

Now they are asking for parking revenue???

This past summer the local high school kids had a bonfire at the dams edge with all of the wood taken from the dam. A yearly maintenance item. Why because staff left a perfect opportunity for locals kids, causing our fire and police department to waste their time and taxpayers $ to deal with the issue that should have been dealt with appropriately the firs time.

Maintenance: I have reported many times of noxious weeds on GSCA lands. Nothing has been done. Seeds continue to be spread over the years with nothing completed by staff. Trails are not maintained, bridges are created with logs, or over metal culverts. Volunteers have built bridges with their money and supplies

-Property reports for owners take weeks to be prepared. These reports have. no systems so all seem to be hand written, Property owners need these to buy and sell properties so time is of the essence. The reports should be standardized and easy to create. It's not like the GSCA owns any liabilities in their decisions.

But they own the land....As we saw in the pandemic GSCA closed all areas to the public allowing police to drive their atvs throughout all of the trails looking for trespassers???? We were allowed to hike the bruce trail but not their lands. We were allowed to walk the streets but not their lands?????

I am very pleased to see the organization amalgamated with other areas. Hopefully we will see more formalized and efficient system moving forward. Thanks
