I strongly oppose the plan…

I strongly oppose the plan to amalgamate the conservation authorities into just seven. Our conservation authority provides valuable local jobs, understands our trails and green spaces and their needs, and holds many unique community events that focus on education and engagement.

If rolled into larger authorities that focus on the goals of the provincial government and their lack of commitment to green spaces, it will be to the detriment of communities - less jobs, less meaningful content and support, and longer wait times for service. Our trails will fall into disrepair, particularly with how many external visitors we try to manage, and this may pose significant safety issues.

I do not support this proposal of restructuring.
